Anne 1702-1714
The last Stuart monarch, Anne -James II's daughter - was also the first sovereign of the kingdom of great Britain, following the political union of England and Scotland in 1707. Her reign saw military victories in Europe and the growth of an embryonic political party system at home.
*Anne suffered ill health and was swollen with gout, her body required a very wide coffin.
